$500.00 per month "and we should be happy at that amount since we were sending in $800.00 per month before this new loving arrangement kicked in" as it was mentioned from the platform. Also, ten thousand was taken out of the account and a loan of fifteen thousand. A total of twenty-five thousand which was to be donated to a new hall build which that hall announced they didn't need so the congregation doesn't know where it ended up an no one seems to ask or is too afraid to ask where their money went

Our last hall has to pay a total of five hundred per month. Ten thousand was handed over along with a recent loan that was borrowed from society of fifteen thousand dollars. All that money was supposedly donated to another hall. That hall was sold and a new one built. Afterwards a talk was given stating that they didn't need our donation of twenty-five thousand dollars but since then there has been no mention as to what happened to that money. (In a previous post the amount was thought to be twenty-one thousand but it is twenty-five thousand)
When the brother made the announcement of the congregation only having to pay five hundred per month, he added that they can be happy at that amount since they were paying eight hundred dollars per month to pay the loan off. People aren't buying it. The few that still talk to us are not donating. Still, people aren't getting the fact that even though they don't have to pay off a loan, they are indebted indefinitely.

It is so obviously a lie......now
by snare&racket inonce the spell is broken, one you take a deep fresh breath outisde of the watchtower camp, the amazingly obvious realisation becomes clear.... of course this is a lie, of course this is ridiculous!
you find you have memories of really believing the claims and promises, but it seems like another life, another experience.
it seems so incredibly false once you leave and it is very difficult to belive you even once accepted it!

How true! About the gambling, it took me no more than fifteen minutes to win $2,400.00 and I was hooked. It was hard to leave the building once the gambling fever had set in. I swore to myself that was my first and last time I would go into a casino. Wish it would have been that easy to do the same with the cult but every time a new and improved reward was thrown at us, we would stay for another round. That watchtower wheel never stopped spinning out new and improved winnings/losts.

NEW DONATION ARRANGEMENT - FOR ME!!
by The Searcher into my congregation:.
dear brethern & sistern, i wish to inform you of a new method which i have devised to provide me with all my material needs for the future.my previous method was ok, pretty lucrative in fact, but this one hits the jackpot!what i propose is this: rather than you giving me monetary gifts when you are able, i want you to pledge, in writing, exactly how much you are willing to give me each month.
that way, your christian conscience will compel you to cough up, regardless of your own financial needs for that month!now the really good bit - calculate how much money your basic household needs are for a month, and multiply that amount by three.

Google Kingdom in the third heavens and you will understand who the society is now following. Yep, looks like they are trying to keep up with the Mormons according to wikipedia.

The two young elders that were just elected this year both have decent jobs. One is a millrite and the other was in paralegal. All the elders on this body all have their own businesses and do well. I just hope the congregation is short each month so the money comes out of the elders pockets to pay up. In a way, the society has now turned the tables on the elders so if some are not well liked, this is the best way to get back at them. Not only are they not protected legally but there's a risk of losing some money if their hall is short. One can only hope it happens this way. Maybe that's why society is culling their herds. Get rid of the weak, faders and troublemakers so this doesn't happen. Too bad for their shunning program for the families who are in won't appreciate their loved ones getting the boot over nothing. Hopfully this will come back and bite them in the ass. Wouldn't want to be an elder for a million dollars.

Can we be deleted as an appointed man, or disfellowshipped without meeting in a committee?
by stuckinarut2 inso, i am genuinely wondering if the above is possible nowdays?.
with the changes in the power structure of co's, the changes in gb directives re never questioning "jehovah's appointed channel etc", i wonder if "disciplne can be given out in absence?.
i know that several elders in our cong have little "discussions" about my apparant slackening off, and would love to take action against me... they have tried to chat with me but that has been shot down.. so i wonder if they could just make a decision without me being present for it?

Just wave bye bye as your walking away from them and five hours later you will get a phone call telling the wife your husband has been df'd. Ok, so he called them babylon the great and that they were the whores. No need to be nasty to my hubby:) True story!

Do you think the nepotism and favoritism will stop with the appointing of elders with the new arrangement?
by toto555 indo you think this is a fairer system and brothers who have never gotten a chance at being elder will finally get it since it's up to the co to decide?
how do you think that's going to work?
do you think the favoritism will go away or be marginalized?.

It's going to be the ones who have the money be picked for elders. When they don't meet their monthly tithe, then they need elders who have money to cough up the rest. These dimwits will pay their way to the top ( so they think) just to find out the society will be waiting with their loot bags to catch their hall's money that is oweing. Live entertainment at your best.

A few years back we had a local needs on being careful to research the background on things like yoga. When they said the word things I thought there was more to it than just yoga but the whole talk was on yoga. Afterwards I spoke to the elder who gave the talk and said I have ten tapes on yoga. How can there be anything wrong with it when all it does is put you in shape physically and mentally relax you to start your hectic day. He said to be careful that it doesn't go beyond the physical aspect and not touch into the mental aspect. He said some get you to focus on things like spiritisim while you are working out and that the ones doing the teaching are into spiritistic worship. That satan is very decieving.
Sheesh! I should have put a turban on and wear my push up sports bra under my see through blouse to the meeting like some who have the custom of doing.(Like the elders wives for instance)

Feeling disloyal
by stirred but not shaken ini've been visiting here for about a year or so, but didn't really feel compelled to participate other than reading the various posts that interested me.. there's been that uncomfortable feeling of being disloyal to god, the organization, many friends and relatives.. i've been associated since birth.
after 65 + years of service within this organization and actually enjoying that time, it troubled me to find myself wanting to express feelings that were contrary to all that time of "faithfulness".
those years were filled with progressive "privileges and responsibilities" even at a high level, and there was considerable success in our evangelizing activity.

Glad you made it here and hope you find encouragement from this site. We found what helped us to get out and stay out was the insight in to the scriptures that the friends here have. Ones like The Searcher, Blondie, Terry, JW Facts, gosh there are so many honest hearted ones to name a few. Now there's one more to add to the list. Looking forward to reading your posts. Welcome!
